Arlington Food Assistance Center:
National Hunger Awareness Day Arlington, VA

National Hunger Awareness Day, will benefit the Arlington Food Assistance Center. The theme of this year’s Day is ‘Night and Day, Fighting Hunger’. At night, AFAC will sponsor its 3rdAnnual Restaurant Night. Twenty-three Arlington eateries have already agreed to participate in this important cause. Each restaurant will donate a portion of its evening’s proceeds to AFAC.  During the day, volunteers all over Arlington will conduct food drives. There will be a food drive at eight Arlington schools and seven apartment complexes. Individuals can also drop off food at eight locations around the county. Items most needed in food drives are cereal, pasta and peanut butter.
